My God bless
You can be Fishers of Mankind.

The earth starts shaking and I've been here before so I don't panic I just stand still and wait. For me that is the hardest time to be patient. It's O.K. This time, it was a little one. I've lived through the big ones though and they ain't no fun. I try not to bother God Almighty with my trivial needs. I know He is listening because I have had some of my prayers answered and that alone is a whole other adventure I could write about.

You could be a trucker with a truck load of dangerous material and all is fine and has been fine for the last five hundred miles. What you don't know is that the brake line developed a small leak and the air compressor has been working twice as hard. You hadn't noticed because you've been enjoying the countryside on this beautiful day and making good time going across this desert mesa.

Now the downhill is ahead. You bring the rig to a stop and get out and stretch and check the rig and over all it appears to be in order. You crawl back up in the cab ready for the heavy down grade for the next five miles. You know play time is over as the rig tips toward the canyon below, but you are confident all is well. Your speed starts picking up as expected. When it hits 35 m.p.h. you put a few pounds on the brakes and you feel it settle where you want it. You travel on down a couple more miles and around the bend where the hill drops off for a few hundred feet and comes back to this grade.

You've been here a least a hundred times in the last two years so worried you are not. Just as the truck bends downward even more you are prepared. You put your foot light on the brake pedal and start applying just the right amount, but the right amount isn't holding up. You put more until the pedal is on the floor. Now there is no time to think, just react! You pump the brake pedal, but the air isn't enough. That air pump isn't keeping up with the need. Now you know you are on a run-away! What do you do next?

When you know you are out of control (a run-away) on this earth, what do you do? Me, I'm going to pray and give this thing to God. After I have known and done God's will every day, every moment for the last several months and years, I have come to know that I can trust that God will handle it from here. I speak my prayer and leave it in the hands of the only one that can pull me through every out of control situation. What did the trucker do? He let go and let  God. The truck came to rest on the side of the road and he got down and thanked the Lord for His blessings one more time.

2 Samuel 7:27-29 -  27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. 28 And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

1 Kings 8:28&29 -  28 Yet have thou respect un to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: 29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

2Kings 20:5 -  Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

2 Chronicles 33:19 -  His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

Psalms 5:1-6 -  1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. 2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. 3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. 4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. 5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

Psalms 17:1-3 -  1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. 3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Psalms 35:11-16 -  11False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. 12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. 13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

Psalms 65:2 -  O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Psalms 66:19 -  But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Psalms 66:20 -  Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Proverbs 15:29 -  The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Lamentations 3:42-50 -  42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. 43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. 44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. 45 Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. 46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. 47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. 48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 49 Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission, 50 Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

Mark 9:25-29 -   25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Luke 6:12 - And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Acts 6:4 -  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

1 Corinthians 7:14 -  And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

Philippians 4:5-7 -  5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

James 5:13-16 -  13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much

1 Peter 4:7&8 -  7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Jesus said in - Luke 21:36 - Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Jesus said in - Matthew 4:4- It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
