My God bless
You can be Fishers of Mankind.

The day turns into the night and everything loses it's shine and thanks to Edison you and I can simply turn on a light. That light allowing us to stay busy at some project (bake a cake) or make our beds or rebuild that old motor in the garage, or whatever you might need a light to see with. Most of us get up when the sun comes up and start our day, - bathroom, teeth, hair and other stuff, - the kitchen and out the door to face the sun or what ever the weather brings. Today is no different, so off you go.

You know that the sun is there even when you can not see it. When it is visible, like in the summer, the heat is so apparent that even the breeze can't cool you down. Light is not something any of us can live without, right? Something tells me also that if you breath you probably know something about air, even if you don't think about the air itself, but you can't deny your chest moving in and out. So the air is there though you will rarely see what you are taking into your body and without it, living is impossible.

Faith and trust run side by side. You work in a high-rise 30 or more story building and every day you walk or drive to the bus or train and ride to a place close enough to walk to where you work in this high-rise. You and I get in the elevator, you going to 28 and I'm on 23, every day we work. We go to lunch. We go back to work. We run errands, and when this day is done we are off to our next place, (home or where ever). So this question; who or what do we put our trust in when we both and others ride those elevators?

We all start this life basically equal, as babies! Then the world starts folding us into it and by the time we can walk really good we've learned to forget about the trust part until that is, we fall. Time passes and we get up and try again and we get good at walking and running. Time passes and we learn how to manage our time so our running or walking have been brought mostly under our control as in going to and from church and school and ball games, etc. You also learn the many things you need to get through the days and weeks and years after school. So as an adult you and I look out at the world we live in and we have been trained to accept the air and light and dark and the blood pumping through our vanes just is and will be until the day we we breath no more.

I once ask this friend and fellow coworker, do you ever think about why we are here? He says "who knows and who cares, we are here and when we are gone... well we are gone." He may have it settled in his mind but not me! I consider that I am smart enough to know that I personally did not just ooze up out of the muck just so I can live and have children and die. Not if you and I are able to have a conversation or to write a piece and have any that will read what we have written good or bad and form an opinion about what they have read as you are reading this. If we have such ability as reasoning, then we must be reasoning or at conflict with the world around us at all times even though we have simply accepted that the air and the light  will always be.

Is it our belief then that we live and die and that's it!!! Or are you like me? I have faith in the idea that we have a purpose for this life and that our fathers and mothers and grandparents lived to bring us into this life. And further, that, that was not just by some lucky chance, as in they, our parents just happened to be at the right place at the right time so that they could meet. In all the time we have record of in our history we know that our ancestors had great difficulties in making it through their lives. Their struggles were far greater than ours and in many cases it would be considered miraculous that they were even in the same area at the same time what with all the wars and famines other natural disasters they as individuals made it through.

They knew the wind and rain and sun were a gift from a place they didn't understand. They knew they had to defend that which was theirs and had a great appreciation for their offspring. They had faith that they were going to have something beyond this life and it was no accident they were here to live to the best of their ability in all fairness with all others. When those that would chose to do harmful things, things that would take away from their lives, in one way or another they had a place for them and a name for them. They became outcast and were called the faithless. Where are they today, when in old times the faithless were so few and easy to recognize, but today there are so many and we call them neighbors.

By faith we get into the elevator. By faith we ride the bus or train. By faith we sit in a chair. By faith step on a airplane or any means of transportation and know we will make it to our destination. By faith we consider our future to be... We are liberated and have forgotten all the lessons of our parents and grandparents and forefathers. Today we have lost our vision, but no you will say 'I've not lost my vision. I know where I am going.' But the question is: in all that you trust, is it all under the hand of fallible man? Do you not think about it? Do you think about it? In times past when I have thought about IT, I've had great arguments with me, myself, and I.

Something tells me the truth is when you look at yourself in the mirror you don't look very long. If you did you would start arguments with yourself you could never win because so far you haven't considered a course of faith in someone greater than all. You see, if you look in the mirror and if you look carefully and deeply, you will see a question of your own humanity and then you won't be able to finish the day the way you had planned. That is about the way it is, right? You won't or don't have time enough in any day to take on that question. The last time you tried you ran into a complete dead end anyway.

Matthew 14:22-31 - 22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

You see they had the wind to blow their ship across to the other side. Jesus had faith that He could walk out to them when He sent them to the other side. They had faith the wind would get them there. Peter had faith if Jesus said he could walk out to Him that he could and did until he took his eyes off of Jesus. If your faith is in need of repair or you have lost it altogether, consider what you are putting your faith in. We all want to trust in our fellow man or woman to  the doing of their jobs and so we should be able to. It is correct to expect them to be good at what they have trained for as they also should consider you good at that which you have been trained to do. In this way we all share this world except for the outcast who have put their faith in a corrupt world and could care less about others.

A story came to me recently; this woman who lived out on a country road off the blacktop uphill to her house with deep ditches on each side. The rain came and the temperature dropped and the rain turned into layers of ice. And she had a meeting in town that she thought would not be a problem to make it to since the sun had come out for a couple of days. As she starts down that driveway she touched the brakes and found out the ice was not melted. The car was immediately out of control heading for the ditch! She tells; she let go of the steering wheel and said, "it's in your hands Jesus", and she said an angel took that car back on the road and brought to a stop at the edge of the blacktop. She said about 500 feet away. She said "I put my faith in Jesus and didn't worry any further". (This I know to be a true story for I personally know this woman and it was me she was coming to see that day, and I could see the truth in her eyes).

Luke 12:28 - If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Acts 14:19-22 -  19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. 20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. 21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:8 - First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

     Romans 3:22-25 - 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

2 Corinthians 5:4-10 -   4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Jesus said in - Luke 21:36 - Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Remember, the choice is yours. I pray you make the right ones.

Jesus said in - Matthew 4:4- It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
