ALMOST SPRING

Warm sun, blue sky filled with Tic Tac Toe games
Played by jet planes and vapor trails.
Bare trees waking from winter sleep
Renewing old acquaintances
Pushed into nods by soft breezes
Birds soaring on updrafts
Looking down on earthlings
Bound by gravity--but hearts soar
With joy and anticipation
On this very early spring day.
